John Francis

Director of Digital Strategy at Hawthorne Direct

John provides innovative methods for drive-to-web advertising campaigns. His main focus is developing consumer journeys in the digital space for Gerber Life, Sengled, Gemmy, L’Oréal, Black+Decker among others. He directs the creation of content strategies and user experience design as well as integrating social media campaigns for these clients.

Prior to Hawthorne, John was Assistant Dean of the Keller Graduate School of Management, Professor of Interactive Design with the Art Institute of California, teaching User Experience Design, Digital Identity Design and Social Media Marketing. He was also the director of partner marketing with Verio/NTT and former webmaster of America Online where he assisted in the design and launch of AOL’s chat application AOL Instant Messenger.
