As Managing Director in Chicago, Mike Solomon leads the McDonald’s business as well as provides leadership across OMD on a number of projects and initiatives.
Prior to this position, Mike was the Midwest Regional Director of the Digital team charged with overseeing overall digital strategy and innovation, including the integration of new media opportunities and emerging platforms for clients in the Midwest region.
Throughout his career, Mike has managed media strategy and planning for key clients across many disciplines, most recently on the McDonald’s business, where he has guided the brand with his expertise in creative media thought leadership, social media, and mobile platforms. Over his time leading the McDonald’s business, Mike has grown the company’s digital investment by over 400% by implementing break-through programs and delivering efficient results. Mike’s team has also been recognized for many award winning media campaigns for a number of brands and social media initiatives.
Mike began his media career at Beyond Interactive in Ann Arbor, working on digital permission-based marketing solutions for clients including Sylvan Learning Centers and Classmates.com. In 2001, Mike joined J. Walter Thompson (JWT) in Detroit working on the Ford Motor Company business in new SUV/truck launches, while collaborating closely with JWT’s analytics team on optimization tactics and strategic performance goals for campaigns.
Mike is a graduate of University of Michigan (Go Blue) and holds a B.A. in Economics. Mike resides in Chicago with his wife and four kids.
